By Jenna Mehdi

Last week marked cause for celebration for Dutch shipbuilder Moonen Yachts, as the yard launched the second Martinique superyacht, 36m M/Y Kokoro.

Luxury yacht Kokoro represents a union of heart, spirit, soul and mind. Hitting the water for the first time at the Dutch builders’ shipyard in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Moonen team watched on in pride as Kokoro unveiled her sleek and compact aesthetic to the world.

Kokoro will now undertake the first round of sea trials after she completes the final stage of commissioning, and is ready to be put through her paces in the North Sea. Before she is delivered to her owners, Kokoro must meet the regulations of Maritime Classification Society, Lloyds Register Group and Cayman Islands Shipping Registry.

Kokoro, who is on track for delivery to her owners in the UAE later this year, is the second in the yard’s commercially successful Martinique range. The construction of another 36m Martinique, recently sold by Moonen Yachts, is progressing steadily. Having just seen two CAT C32 engines placed in YN200’s hull, the Martinique yacht will now see her hull and superstructure joined together as she inches closer to launch.

The third Martinique in Moonen’s Caribbean line, YN200 has been specially customised will  newly extended sundeck to house a 6 person Jacuzzi on request of her owners. Her owners in the US will welcome her delivery towards the end of 2021.
