MYS 2013: Dr. Herbert Aly on the 100m+ Market
Blohm + Voss, one of the world’s most historical shipyards, are familiar with eclipsing others with their ground-breaking projects down the years.
And so it seemed appropriate when a vessel named Eclipse departed their German shipyard earlier this year, becoming the world’s largest yacht at 162.5m (before being overtaken by the Lurssen-built Azzam).
Inevitably, when we caught up with Dr. Herbert Aly, CEO of Blohm + Voss, on the opening day of this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, conversation quickly turned to that remarkable yacht.
Blohm + Voss also announced today the appointment of Patrick Coote as Marketing Manager for the German shipyard in place of his role at Fraser Yachts.
