MYS 2021: Benetti's Gigayacht Season is Here

Sitting with VP Giovanna Vitelli of the Azimut Benetti Group, it seems clear there is only great accomplishments, and milestone achievments for the shipyard. With an order book value of 1.2 billion euros, even through challenging circumstances, we were keen to know how this was accomplished. "Covid has brought many people back to yachting." shares the VP. "We were lucky to come to the market with some new yachts that really anticipated some of the new trends that the pandemic stressed".

An undeniable 'giga yacht' that has had the industry (and the world) talking, is IJE, a 108-metre vessel that made clear the Benetti gigayacht season has well and trully begun. "I am proud to say that the largest yacht on display is our Benetti 108m IJE" Giovanna Vitelli shares. "IJE is a fantastic elegant timeless boat designed by RWD".

Luminosity and Lana  are also great examples of this. However, will this vision and focus on building bigger continue at Benetti? "The experience of the three giga-yachts we delivered last year was definitely a challenge for Benetti, but a challenge that turned out into a big success." says Giovanna Vitelli. "And in the end we are the only player in the southern Med to be able to produce and deliver boats above 100m".

Sustainability continues to be a key area for Benetti. Having reached their goal of reducing consumption by 40% we were keen to know what else is on the horizon for the shipyard, it seems like it is positive, exciting and larger than life, to match their show-stopping vessel berthes in Port-Hercules.
