By Jenna Mehdi

The Monaco Yacht Show is the epicentre of the luxury yachting world. As the Managing Director of one of the most long standing and prestigious celebrations of yachting, Gaelle Tallarida joined us to share how the show is celebrating its illustrious history and dynamic, exciting future.

After the turbulence of the previous eighteen months and the unfortunate cancellation of last year's show, the welcome return of the Yacht Show to Port Hercule is cause for great excitement. "We have worked hard, we took this special period to take this time with the industry, to define the needs of the visitors," explains Gaelle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show, "then we improved the visitors experience".

Despite the complication of the multiple additions of COVID regulations and restrictions; the yacht show is as exciting now more than ever before. "We have also the sailing yacht area, all 12 all together with all the companies exhibiting"

With large numbers of exhibitors at this years show Gaelle takes care to stress the importance of connecting the vendors directly to yacht owners. Although "We have to respect distance in the show and many times a day washing our hands, so it all allows us to be together at Port Hercules."

For an event of MYS's stature, sustainability is a necessary part of the manifesto of the show. Fortunately, Gaelle has plenty to talk about in the field of crafting an event with environmental sustainability in mind. Gaelle shared insight of the importance of being and leading example on the front: "the role of the yacht show is to increase awareness on sustainability", something the region of Monaco has done for many years.

Looking ahead to the future of the show, Gaelle concluded that the impressive evolution and growth that the show has undergone in recent years will continue to progress expenentually "the work we do is to set up a fantastic event on the docks, but we work during the year developing contacts within the private sector such as a private jet or wine company and cross promotion activities" shared Gaelle.
