MYS 2021: Waving the Flag for Australia with Silver Yachts

By Freya Cottrell

Joined by Sander Toonen, COO at Silver Yachts, we discussed the impact of COVID-19 on Australia, the region as an emerging superyacht hub, as well as the latest HULL 7 Silver Edge. Not only this, but the industry favourite 85-metre Bold, that has commanded global attention. Not only this, but the companies focus on refit and maintenance support, proving Australia really has it all

Seeing a new and emerging destination commanding the spotlight is always exciting. Australia, the new superyacht hub, has become one of the leading hotspots to both visit as well as build your dream superyacht.  Excited to be at the show, the COO shared; "It's fantastic to be back after not being able to be here from the 2020 addition"

Another in-build spectacle is stirring up interest and excitement both in Australia and beyond. "It's got increased tender capacity, it's got a pool on the back, with a very cool look if I do say so myself" shared Toonen. It seems clear Hull 7, Silver Edge is the shipyards latest example of cutting-edge creations that reflect the shipyards ethos in being committed to excellence.

BOLD, an expedition yacht that has had the industry talking is another equally as impressive creation. Designed for fast positioning, expedition yacht BOLD is both a fuel efficient and stylish expedition yacht, all wrapped up in 85.3-metres. "She's got a lot of tender capability, big cranes, she can take two helicopters if she wants, she's got a 24-hour helipad. She's th3e ultimate fast world explorer" shared Toonen.

With Australia having plenty to offer, both in the world of charter excellence as well as in-build innovation, Silver Yachts continues to wave the flag for the region, as a stand-out shipyard with a difference. Whether it's building a Top 100 expedition yacht, or offering world-renowned refit and maintenence Silver Yachts showcases industry excellence at its best.
