MYS 2022: Abeking & Rasmussen Announces New Innovative Explorer

By Heather Collier

On the opening day of the Monaco Yacht Show, we spoke with Abeking & Rasmussen on their 4 outstanding yachts that are on display at the show this year.

We sat down with Bjorn Benecke, Sales Manager at Abeking & Rasmussen, and Valentin Weigand, Yacht Designer to discuss in more depth their latest announcement: a collaborative project on an exciting, brand new explorer.

"We are very happy that this is the first show after the rules and regulations of the past few years. It's very important for us to meet our contacts and make new ones, we love to enjoy all of the emotions here at Monaco", says Mr. Benecke.

The shipyard are showcasing 4 vessels at the show this year, a true highlight for those hoping to catch a glimpse of some of the most luxurious yachts in the world.

"We are extremely proud of the 4 boats that we have here with us, all from our family, including the 86m B2 and 68m Soaring."

Abeking & Rasmussen remains an iconic name in the yachting industry with a flair for innovation and new ideas, yet still a family business at heart with deep traditions.

"We have taken Abeking & Rasmussen's total custom approach and combine it with our strengths and innovation. We want to create something new, whilst also combining it with tradition," Valentin Weigand explains.

"We decided 1 and a half years ago to work on a project together," adds Benecke. "It was a very close collaboration, it's been amazing to have a young design company work alongside us."

The future appears to be even brighter for Abeking & Rasmussen, with a tease of other exciting new projects on the horizon.

"We are very happy that this is the first show after the rules and regulations of the past few years. It's very important for us to meet our contacts and make new ones, we love to enjoy all of the emotions here at Monaco."
