MYS 2022: Superyacht Tenders & Toys on Facilitating Adventure

By George Bains

Roxane Ducret of Superyacht Tenders & Toys sat down with Shari Liu during the Monaco Yacht Show, with on-water adventure very much the centre of discussion…

Since 2011, Superyacht Tenders & Toys has revolutionised the way in which owners can build their arsenal of onboard equipment to enhance the superyacht experience. In that time, the company has championed versatility to provide an all-encompassing service, supported by a new dedicated rental and distribution arm in Monaco.

“I believe we have a strong identity now,” explains Roxane Ducret. “We are probably the only company able to offer a full list of equipment to yachts, working very closely with the owners and their teams.”

Over the years, there have been significant trends in the way in which guests experience the water, with the rise of electric and eFoil boards one of the biggest increases. However, Roxane reflects on the broader impetus given to more adventurous excursions.

“There is a lot of interest in adventure. They (owners and guests) really want to adventure, to go further and deeper, so that’s why the adventurous rib tenders can offer this.

“We also supply submarines, and you can go deeper to 1 kilometre deep. We recently did this project with U-Boat Worx for a client, which was pretty cool!”

Shari and Roxane discuss the key factors that need to be considered when deciding on the best tender for an owner, including onboard space, lead time and the use of the tender. Roxane then shares her view on the most exciting aspect of the tender and toys market.

“We really try to sell an experience to the client, not just a few items. It’s about the experience and the thrill to the owner and their family.

“We consider more and more yachts have shadow vessels, and it’s all about designing the tender garage. It starts to become a masterpiece, you walk into the garage and everything is properly organised. We are working closely with designers and naval architects on that.”
