MYS 2022: The Detailed Italian Interiors of Massari Design

By Emily Dawkins

Shari Liu sat down in the Superyachts.com Interview Studio at the 2022 MYS with the Principal Chief Executive Officer of Massari Design, Alessandro Massari. In conversation with the CEO, the pair discussed the design firm’s bespoke approach to interiors, its latest superyacht projects and its 365 degree full service design process.

Massari Design offers clients a perfect blend of heritage, innovation and Italian flair, all whilst ensuring their needs and desires are exceeded.

‘It’s really focused on the client's needs,’ commented Principal CEO of Massari Design, Alessandro Massari, ‘I hear them and their ideas, and then I carefully study… and then I come back to them with my own ideas, and so we discuss.’

With superyacht interior design, the CEO explained how it really is a long and meticulous process, but it is something that Massari Design is there for every step of the way to create entirely bespoke and one-of-a-kind designs. ‘The perfect project is the perfect project for one specific client.’

For the design studio, its rich Italian heritage is key to its cutting-edge designs. ‘Being Italian, it's kind of in our nature… it's kind of easy for us.’

Despite upholding Italian traditions and exceptional finishes, the CEO explained that the ‘devil is in the detail’: ‘we use clean lines and sleek angles but really refined and detailed, because detail makes the difference. I really pay attention to the micro and the macro.’ The CEO shared how many of his remarkable designs are influenced by his love of fashion.

Recently designing the interiors of CRN’s 52m CIAO and Golden Yachts’ 88m Project X, Massari revealed how they are both extremely different, but that's what makes them so uniquely bespoke.

‘We don’t have any fears to face new challenges in any client’s wishes. I hope I can take my clients to new horizons by working together.’
