MYS 2022: Xeamos Talks Superyacht Systems Making a Difference

By Emily Dawkins

Xeamos’ Business Development specialist Adriaan van Korlaar joined Shari Liu in the interview studio at the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show to tell us more about the company and its emission-reducing solutions, and discuss the importance of the yachting industry in contributing to a greener world.

Specialising in after-treatment systems for diesel engines, Xeamos works to reduce emissions through its high-tech sustainable solutions. Business Development specialist Adriaan van Korlaar told Shari Liu, ‘you can say it's a transition solution away from fossil fuels...’

‘The sooner we are away from these fossil fuels and pollution, the better it is, but until that moment we offer a solution to reduce emissions in the exhaust gasses of diesel engines…and at the same time, we combine it with sound reduction.’ added the Business Development specialist.

With several other similar companies offering solutions to combat the pollution from superyachts, Adriaan van Korlaar believes that it is the flexible nature of Xeamos that sets them apart from their competitors: ‘what we hear from our clients is that we are more flexible and we try to offer a solution which is possible to install in an existing engine room and in a new vessel. It's the flexibility of our organisation and the sturdiness of the components.’

Ultimately, for the Business Development specialist, ‘the lasting impact is to reduce and make a greener world’, as he highlighted the importance of all companies, both inside and outside of the industry, working to make a difference.
