Described by Amerio as ‘a fantastic year’ 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Amer Yachts. To celebrate this monumental occasion, the shipyard has dedicated a model to their 50th birthday: the 950, which was unveiled at the Genoa Boat Show last week. With ten yachts in construction this year, as well as three deliveries, Amer have certainly set the precedent for years to come.
A business with sustainability at the forefront of its designs, Amerio revealed what the shipyard is currently doing to increase eco-conscious developments: ‘We are working on certification of Basalt Fibre that could, in the future, be a different composite to be used. We have started a collaboration with different groups of sustainability, including Milan University, and we are testing this material for a small boat.’
The 70m steel, which is due to be launched in 2026, is a project that the shipyard is incredibly proud of. She is the largest boat in Amer’s history, the clients already incredibly happy with the progress she is making. With close to one hundred custom builds in its portfolio, the incredible nature of Amer Yachts can be seen.
Amerio discussed how clients appreciate the family-feel of the company, which allows for strong relationships to be built. ‘Our ethos is to be viable, create long relationships, and to be transparent with the clients and also with our staff. Altogether, we will decide the future of the company.’
