MYS 2023: Bilgin Yachts on Recent Projects and Shipyard Developments
We were joined at the Monaco Yacht Show this morning by Bilgin Yachts’ Commercial Director, Berkay Yilmaz. We discussed the shipyard's recent projects, 80m LEONA which is on display here in Monaco, as well as developments for the Turkish yard.
80m Leona has not just caught the attention of the Monaco Yacht Show attendees, but also from Prince Albert of Monaco, who spent over an hour on board this exceptional vessel showcasing her spectacular nature. Berkay Yilmaz, Commercial Director at Bilgin Yachts, commented on her eye-catching appearance: ‘She’s a very unique yacht, with a red hull colour and white superstructure.’ She is a stand-out vessel here at the show, the largest yacht with a red hull in the port.
42m KASIF is not to go unmentioned when discussing Bilgin’s fleet. Launched this summer, she represents a pivotal moment for the Turkish yard: the first yacht to be built in its new facility as well as redefining the explorer yacht concept.
‘This was the first product that was built in our new Antalya facility, and if you compare her exterior styling with different explorer yachts, she has more aggressive, sporty, elegant lines rather than having a traditional bulky explorer yacht.’
With an expanded portfolio which includes a confidential 102m project whose construction is expected to begin at the start of 2025, Bligin Yachts is a perfect example of how Turkey is becoming one of the largest superyacht builders in the world.
