MYS 2023: Burgess Talks 2023 Market Trends
On the opening morning of the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show we were delighted to welcome Burgess’ Jonathan Beckett to the Superyachts.com interview studio. After a busy year for the brokerage firm, the Managing Partner and Chief Executive shared with Shari Liu what visitors can expect to see from Burgess during this year’s Monaco show, how the market has been for the brokerage firm and what is on the horizon for Burgess.
With 16 impressive vessels on display including the 90m PHOENIX 2, the 90m modern-classic motor yacht NERO as well as the 43m ‘pocket-size’ RUYA, leading brokerage firm Burgess has certainly pulled out all of the stops for this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.
'The Monaco show is the premiere superyacht show in the world…for us, it's a really important place to be,’ shared Jonathan Beckett, Managing Partner and Chief Executive. 'It’s going to be a very busy show for us: we have something for everyone.’
Aside from a diverse superyacht line-up, this year, Burgess has partnered with Blue Marine Foundation, Ethereal Blooms and Fisker to create a completely immersive experience at their stand: ‘You’ve got to come over and see it!’
So how has the past year been for Burgess? ‘The market started off a little slow…but it's really picked up a pace. We’re confident again that this year will be a good year for both us and the industry,’ Jonathan commented.
Alongside the impressive new addition of Freire Shipyard’s brand-new 112m RENAISSANCE to their charter fleet, Burgess has a vast array of exciting developments on the cards for the next year.
‘We’ve got great things going on in the business… we’re doing a very careful modernisation over the next few years which is really exciting.’
