Returning to the Superyachts.com interview studio, we welcomed Mark Hagan & Andrew Heggs from Equiom Group. Giving us an insight into the company, they spoke on what sets Equiom apart from competitors and the driving factors behind its success.

Offering tax solutions for high-net-worth individuals, Equiom Group provides a structure that is fitting for the UBO’s needs of a particular asset. It offers tailored tax propositions to look at various angles, ensuring that both robustness of structure and optimum tax position is delivered as a consequence. 

Mark Hagan, Director of VAT, spoke on the ethos of the company: ‘The client is at the centre of everything we do. So it’s a combination of service and technical excellence. They’re our two driving factors.’

With a huge talent of capable individuals focused on luxury assets, Equiom Group has the expertise that provides a competent and well-governed structure that removes and helps mitigate liabilities. 

Equiom Group supports the family office when it comes to luxury asset ownership. Andrew Heggs, Manager of Yachting & Aviation, commented on how the company is involved in this: ‘That’s where we come in on the assets side: where there is a complex element to it, we then provide that guidance, we provide the structure, we provide that liability.’

Working in a fast-changing industry, Equiom recognises that there are numerous complexities to manage and that they need to be involved within the industry as a whole. The company is looking to collaborate with the best players in the industry to ensure the best final product for the client. Hagan commented:

‘We’re looking to just simplify what we do, to simplify the articulation of our proposition. We’re trying to break the perception that we are all things to all people. We’re not; we do certain things exceptionally well, and we’re going to focus on that.’
