MYS 2023: Gulf Craft’s Moving Legacy

By Frances Flannagan

Gulf Craft’s CEO Mohammed Alshaali sat down with Shari Liu in our interview studio at Monaco to discuss Gulf Craft and Majesty Yachts. Forever looking forward, the shipyard’s ethos of legacy in motion sets them apart within the industry.

Gulf Graft and Majesty Yachts have had a very successful year, expanding their market worldwide by not only building more yachts, but by building bigger yachts every time. With a new shipyard in the Maldives currently being built and hopefully opening at the beginning of next year, Gulf Craft will not only be serving the Maldives’ tourism industry, but catering for East Africa and South East Asia through this new yard which will deliver very high standard products.

Majesty 111 is on display here in Monaco, making her international debut following receiving an award for her interiors in Cannes. She follows in the footsteps of the Majesty 120, which has also been very well received. Hull number two was shown in Monaco last year, and this year’s hull number 3 is of the same standard of finish, whilst being different in interior.

Mohammed Alshaali, CEO of Gulf Craft, commented that: ‘legacy is not static, it is a moving legacy.’ This reflects his passion to always move forward, rather than reaching for the past, setting Gulf Craft apart from other shipyards due to their continuous desire to adapt and evolve. Combined with the commitment to the customer, the company is certainly one of the highest calibre.

‘We want to build every yacht to the satisfaction of the customer. I don’t mean that we over customise it, there is a standard that we keep, but as much as possible we accommodate the taste and the modification and the point of view of the customer.’

From a region not known for yacht building, Gulf Craft is very different from all other yacht builders, whilst producing boats of the same quality, finish and craftsmanship.
