MYS 2024: Abeking & Rasmussen Discusses Construction and Refits
On the third day of the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, Shari Lui sat down with Björn Benecke and Stina Krause from Abeking & Rasmussen in the Superyachts.com interview studio. The duo shared insights about their latest projects, including an exciting 80-metre superyacht currently under construction.
While specific details about the project remain confidential, Abeking & Rasmussen confirmed that this impressive vessel is set for completion in the coming years. The shipyard prides itself on exclusively crafting custom yachts, with a strong commitment to realising each client’s unique vision. Their focus on personalised service ensures that every aspect of the build meets the highest standards of excellence.
In addition to new builds, Abeking & Rasmussen is busy with several significant refit projects. One standout is the extensive refit of ST NICHOLAS, which began earlier this year. Benecke elaborated, ‘ST NICHOLAS has undergone a remarkable transformation. This includes a two-metre extension, extensive exterior renovations, and the addition of a new gym on the sundeck. We’ve also made substantial interior updates, such as enlarging the windows to let in more natural light and refreshing the furnishings. The client has already visited the shipyard, and he is thrilled with the progress. We expect the yacht to be ready for him at the beginning of next year.’
The conversation also touched on Abeking & Rasmussen's newly appointed Chief Commercial Officer, Björn Schlüter, who brings a wealth of experience in shipyard management. Benecke and Krause speak highly of Schlüter, emphasising his integral role in the company’s ongoing success and vision.
As Abeking & Rasmussen continues to innovate and push the boundaries of yacht design and refit capabilities, we look forward to seeing what the next year holds for this prestigious shipyard.
