By Frances Flannagan

Superyachts.com had the pleasure of welcoming Marco Massabò, CEO of Cantieri di Pisa, to our interview studio at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024. Massabò shared insights into this iconic Italian brand, alongside an exciting new venture and upcoming unveilings.

With 740 boats having hit the water, Cantieri di Pisa has gained a notable reputation as an iconic Italian brand. Speaking with Shari Liu, CEO Marco Massabò provided an overview of the Pisa-born shipyard, as well as highlighting some of its most iconic models, such as Akhir.

For Massabò, Akhir is ‘a part of Cantieri di Pisa’, alluding to the importance of this brand to the Italian yard.

In Cannes, Cantieri di Pisa presented nine new models ranging from 38 to 90 metres. A new Akhir was one such yacht displayed: a 44m, full carbon, 35 knot motor yacht. Alongside this vessel was a 48m, ‘new age of explorer’ Polaris, basting two decks and extreme comfort for those on board.

Massabò revealed some exciting updates, including a 38 metre and 24 metre currently under construction and a new joint venture with T. Mariotti.

‘He has capability, and he has knowledge… with Cantieri di Pisa, I think it’s a really good situation for the market.’

As the MYS drew to a close, Massabò discussed the shipyard’s plans to attend the America’s Cup, where the Italian yard will present a new sailing yacht concept.
