MYS 2024: Morley Yachts on Listing Iconic Motor Yacht CHRISTINA O For Sale
On the third day of the Monaco Yacht Show 2024, Shari Liu sat down with Tim Morley, Founder of Morley Yachts. Following her sale, Morley discussed all things CHRISTINA O, including her notable history and iconic features.
Measuring an immense length of 90m, CHRISTINA O is a legendary vessel with a fascinating history, renowned for hosting an array of famous guests: from world leaders, to royalty.
Tim Morley commented: ‘Sir Winston Churchill took nine cruises on board including a transatlantic cruise. He met JFK for the first time on CHRISTINA O, here in Monaco.’
Morley also shared that the asking price for CHRISTINA O is currently valued at €90,000,000, but highlighted the difficulty in putting a price on such a legendary vessel.
‘We actually deliberated on the asking price for a full year before we fixed it because she is such an impossible boat to value. How do you value a one off unique object like CHRISTINA O? There is nothing like it.’
Morley reassured that, despite the hefty price tag, it has had interest from a variety of potential buyers with the sale promising her new owner will truly be a part of her remarkable history.
Morley Yachts also discussed their fleet listings, including the LE PONANT sailing ship and the six PONANT EXPLORER vessels on which Morely commented ‘They can go to places that no other ship can go’.
