MYS 2025: AvA Yachts on Crafting High-Volume Explorers with Boutique Precision
Ercan Can, Operations Manager of AvA Yachts, joined us here at Superyachts.com at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show to mark a major milestone: the shipyard’s 20th anniversary. What began as a design office in Antalya has grown into a respected boutique builder of high-volume explorer yachts, each one engineered with a commercial mindset and delivered with an unwavering focus on quality.
Speaking with host Shari Liu, Can shared how AvA Yachts’ transition into construction was sparked by a client who trusted their expertise, leading to the launch of the Kando series. Ranging up to 50 metres, these steel-hulled explorers are built for global cruising, with safeguards at every level ‘we double everything on board,’ Can noted, ensuring safety and reliability in even the most remote locations.
At the heart of the Kando line is an exceptional underwater profile and a high volume-to-length ratio that sets it apart. ‘People often compare yachts by length,’ he explained, ‘but our 24-metre Kando 85 has the same volume as most 30-metre yachts.’ Built for range, comfort, and economy, one recent delivery, owned by NBA legend Tony Parker, burns just 75 litres of fuel at cruising speed.
Operating with a ‘less is more’ approach, AvA Yachts prioritises timely delivery, hands-on project management, and a client-first ethos. ‘If the client is happy, we are happy,’ Can said simply.
Looking ahead, the shipyard has two new builds underway, another Kando 85 and a Kando 110, as well as the development of its next line: the Voyage range. With innovation, integrity, and individuality at its core, AvA Yachts continues to excel in the explorer segment.
