MYS 2025: Carla Guilhem Design on Expansion and Evolution
Carla Guilhem, Founder and Principal Designer of Carla Guilhem Design, joined us at Superyachts.com at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show to reflect on a year of creative evolution and global expansion. From the unveiling of her new design studio in Rome to the completion of the 34-metre ONE with Van der Valk, 2025 marked a moment of significant growth for the award-winning designer. Her new base in Italy opens the door to deeper collaborations with local artisans and access to Europe's design and residential markets, while strengthening her vision of blending functionality with style.
Guilhem discussed the imaginative and futuristic design of ONE, a project made possible by open-minded owners and a clear ambition. She also touched on her recent move into private aviation and luxury residential interiors, spaces where she brings the same detail-driven discipline honed in the superyacht world.
Sustainability, she noted, continues to be a part of her studio’s philosophy. With a growing material library of innovative, eco-conscious finishes, Guilhem remains focused on longevity and future-proof design: ‘I’m always thinking about the balance between durability and sustainability.’
