MYS 2025: Cecil Wright on Project Solent and Discretion in Superyacht Brokerage

By Sophia Spanton

At the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, Superyachts.com had the privilege to sit down with Chris Cecil Wright, Founder and Broker of Cecil Wright, to discuss the pioneering 83-metre Feadship Project Solent and evolving dynamics in the superyacht brokerage world.

Project Solent stands out as a beacon of bespoke design and innovation. As the owner’s representative, Cecil Wright plays a pivotal role, guiding every decision from the earliest inception to delivery, ensuring the yacht not only meets but exceeds the owner’s vision. 'It's a really fun project, and now we are about to start transferring out to Holland because the hull and all the plating is complete...delivery is in May 2027.' Wright explained.

The Monaco Yacht Show has transformed into more than a showcase; it is a discreet arena fostering high-value relationships away from the public eye. Wright emphasised, 'With the advent of data being spread around the world in a flash of a second, if you put a boat on your website, suddenly everybody knows the interior, everybody wants to broke that boat and somehow it loses it value... so we have this idea that its not publically listed.'

With the market increasingly leaning towards off-market transactions, maintaining client privacy and confidence is crucial. Cecil Wright’s brokerage prides itself on discretion, safeguarding client interests while navigating a shifting landscape where discretion is the new luxury, a term coined by their PR Manager, Louise Pearson.

As he succinctly put it, the superyacht industry’s evolution towards confidential dealings redefines luxury. Watch the full interview above.
