MYS 2025: GX Superyachts on Hybrid Propulsion and Adaptable Exploration

By Nora Hart

Vladimir Zinchenko, CEO of GX Superyachts, and Andrea Armas, Advisor to the Board, sat down with us here at Superyachts.com at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show to share how GX Superyachts is redefining sustainable cruising through cutting-edge hybrid propulsion, bold design, and an excellent understanding of evolving client needs.

GX was born from the success of Greenline Yachts, early leaders in solar-assisted hybrid systems, and has since grown to meet demand for larger vessels with the same eco-conscious base. ‘Our customers grew with us,’ Zinchenko explained, highlighting GX’s hybrid system that combines electric motors with diesel engines to deliver both silence and performance. The goal, he said, is a balanced, user-friendly energy system that prioritises comfort while reducing environmental impact.

Armas echoed this focus on responsibility and innovation: ‘We mitigate the impact we give to the environment,’ he said, adding that hybrid technology isn’t just about emissions, it’s about transforming the entire onboard experience.

The pair also offered an update on the GX42, currently in its final stages of construction. With the hybrid system being installed and 70% of the interior completed, GX is on track for a June 2026 launch and plans to debut the yacht at next year’s show.

They also discussed the GX38 Voyager, a compact yet capable explorer with space for serious adventure gear, including a landing craft and mini-submarine. Designed for remote cruising in extreme climates, the Voyager represents GX’s vision for sustainable, go-anywhere yachting.

With several advanced projects in build and a clear focus on responsible innovation, GX Superyachts is helping shape our understanding of future possibilities in the nautical field.
