MYS 2025: H2 Yacht Design’s Jonny Horsfield on REV, New Projects & Market Trends

Discussing the REV project, Horsfield conveyed how remarkably relevant the design remains even as construction nears completion. With minimal tweaks needed since its conception, he highlighted how the vessel leans more towards cruise-ship construction than a traditional yacht, which is fitting considering status as the worlds largest superyacht. 

Turning to collaborations with Turquoise Yachts, Horsfield discussed the recently launched Project 80 RAFELE, acknowledging that while 80–90m vessels remain popular, there is still significant demand for smaller yachts. This shift is partly driven by younger buyers entering the market, looking for more accessible yet highly personalised designs.

A recent highlight for H2 Yacht Design is a 116m project with Monrovia, which Horsfield described as having ‘soft lines and a timeless presence.’ This addition underscores H2’s ability to balance scale with elegance.

Reflecting on the presence of a Damen project at MYS, Horsfield likened the experience to ‘going to see an old friend,’ a testament to the enduring partnerships and continuity that define H2’s work.

Looking ahead, Horsfield announced the opening of a new H2 Yacht Design studio in Nice, a move designed to bring the team ‘closer to the action’ and further embed the company in the heart of the Mediterranean yachting world.

With projects spanning from groundbreaking explorers like REV to elegant timeless flagships and a growing presence in Southern Europe, H2 Yacht Design continues to showcase versatility, innovation, and a clear vision for the future of yachting.
