MYS 2025: Lürssen on 150 Years and Rebranding
CEO Peter Lürssen joined us here at Superyachts.com at Monaco Yacht Show to reflect on a remarkable 150 years of yacht building. Among many other developments for Lürssen in 2025, the company underwent a rebranding. Lürssen shared insights into this change, led by the designer behind the Apple logo.
‘It’s a great milestone to reach, always family-run and always in family hands,’ he said, marking the ongoing legacy of the shipyard. Looking ahead, Lürssen’s focus has shifted towards leisure yachts that bring their signature technological expertise, with significant projects like the 134-metre Project Deep Blue and the groundbreaking 114-metre Project Cosmos, the world’s first fuel-cell superyacht. ‘The attention to detail on DEEP BLUE is exceptional,’ said Lürssen , ‘while COSMOS offers a unique observatory-style bow, offering owners an unobstructed sea view.’
Sustainability remains a key focus for Lürssen, with Lürssen highlighting the company’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint. ‘The drive to minimise impact is at the heart of everything we do,’ he added.
As Lürssen celebrates their milestone year, the future looks unequivocally bright with several projects paving the way for this new era of superyachting.
