MYS 2025: Onshore Cellars Talk Precision, Provenance, and the Pursuit of Perfection

By Sophia Spanton

From life at sea to supplying its finest cellars, Ed and Jessica Dunnett have charted a remarkable course. Speaking with Shari Liu at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, Ed, one of the Co-Founder's of Onshore Cellars reflected on how a crew member’s eye for detail became the foundation of the superyacht industry’s leading fine wine and spirits supplier.

Operating at the intersection of logistics and luxury, Dunnett explained, 'Really, we’re a logistics and service company. Timing is everything, yachts move constantly, and 90% of our orders include something that wasn’t on our list. We have to find it in one spot and deliver it in another.'

With deep industry knowledge and a highly developed systems network, Onshore Cellars ensures that precision underpins every delivery. Having come from yacht crew themselves, Ed and Jessica understand the expectations, and the excess, of life onboard. 'The most expensive bottle we’ve sourced was €187,000,' Dunnett shared. 'We’ve certainly had some orders far beyond what I ever thought I’d see come through the shop.'

Beyond supply, Onshore Cellars invests in knowledge. Through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, the company supports continuous learning among its team. 'We do a lot of training, though we’re not a training company,” he said. “Understanding what to pair and why makes all the difference.'

For Dunnett, the Monaco Yacht Show is also about connection. Networking helps refine how we Onshore Cellars can make their systems even more efficient. He noted. 'That’s important for us and our clients, it means there are almost zero errors, and mistakes in this business can be costly.'
