MYS 2025: Royal Yacht International on Miami Expansion and Unmatched Successes

By Nora Hart

Tommaso Chiabra, CEO of Royal Yacht International (RYI), joined us here at Superyachts.com at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show to reflect on a pivotal year for the boutique brokerage. With the successful sale of a 60-metre CRN among a series of high-profile transactions, Chiabra described 2025 as a phenomenal year, crediting the company's success to strong client relationships and an unwavering focus on personalised service.

A key milestone was the opening of RYI’s new Miami office, marking a strategic push into the U.S. market. ‘We’re huge believers in the U.S. market,’ said Chiabra, outlining how the brand is adapting their model for American clients while strengthening their global presence. He emphasised the importance of guiding clients through every stage of their yachting journey, an approach that lies at the heart of RYI’s philosophy.

Another major move was the appointment of Charmaine du Plessis as Head of Charter USA, signalling the company’s deepening commitment to its charter division. ‘We invest a lot in relations,’ Chiabra shared, pointing to the division’s expansion as a natural response to increasing client demand.

On display at Monaco this year was an impressive RYI-associated fleet including SEVEN, MOCA, and FIVE. Chiabra noted active movement and offers on these standout yachts, underscoring RYI’s appeal. ‘This is the best show we’ve ever seen in terms of client reactions,’ he remarked.

With further expansion to come and technology-driven thinking embedded into their strategy, Royal Yacht International continues to be an icon in boutique brokerage.
