MYS 2025: Tony Castro on the Potential of Sailing for Sustainability

Tony Castro, Director and Founder of Tony Castro Design Group, joined us at the 2025 Monaco Yacht Show to discuss his company’s recent innovations and growing interest in more sustainable yacht designs. This year, he reflected on his ongoing focus on his pioneering work in Sail Assisted Motoryachts, a concept which is shaping the future of environmentally-conscious design.

Castro, whose career has been marked by his relentless pursuit of innovation, also shared insights into his sixth Innovation Award. He explained how maintaining a balance between cutting-edge technology and timeless design principles remains at the heart of his success. ‘It’s in our genes,’ he said, highlighting the importance of evolving while staying true to his own identity.
