MYS 2026: Fabricio Schettini on Casa de Campo, 1970 and the Dominican Republic
With the Marina Casa de Campo celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the wider destination is also entering an important new chapter. At the Monaco Yacht Show, Superyachts.com host Shari Liu sits down with Fabricio Schettini, CEO of Casa de Campo, to discuss the milestone, the reopening of the legendary Teeth of the Dog and what lies ahead for the Dominican Republic.
The conversation also looks towards 1970, the inaugural Dominican Republic Superyacht Rendezvous taking place at Casa de Campo this December. Bringing together superyachting, golf and the wider destination, the event will showcase a side of Casa de Campo that extends well beyond the marina.
One of the most significant developments at Casa de Campo this year is the reopening of Teeth of the Dog. The legendary course has long been central to the resort’s identity, and its return adds another dimension to a destination already known for its golf, coastline, culture and distinctive setting.
"The rebuild of teeth of the dog was spectacular… the conditions now are superb."
That breadth is also at the heart of 1970. With Casa de Campo as its setting, the rendezvous will bring together superyachting with the resort’s wider offering, from championship golf and the coast to Altos de Chavón and experiences across the Dominican Republic.
For Schettini, the event also represents an opportunity to introduce more owners and captains to the destination and demonstrate what the Dominican Republic can offer beyond the traditional yachting circuit.
"I believe that the marina is going to be more known for everybody in the yachting industry"
With 25 years of marina experience behind it, Teeth of the Dog entering its next chapter and 1970 on the horizon, Schettini looks ahead to a future in which Casa de Campo’s different sides come together to offer an increasingly distinctive proposition for the superyacht community.
"The Marina Casa de Campo is not just a Marina… it’s destiny… we have everything"
