Nick Stark Design Unveils 24m Retro Performance Yacht

By George Bains

Australian design and naval architecture studio Nick Stark Design has unveiled a new 24m Retro Performance Yacht, adding to a portfolio which quickly demonstrating great versatility, flexibility and quality.

Headed by the former Silver Yachts Senior Naval Architect, Nick Stark Design opened in February of this year with the release of the Constellation Series of three 70m+ shadow vessels. We didn’t have to wait long before another 53m high-performance hybrid superyacht was revealed by Stark, and this latest project is a unique concept that beautifully fuses design heritage with modern comfort and luxury.

The 24m yacht is inspired by 1920’s New York commuter boats. Designed to transit with speed and style, the yacht evokes the optimism and exuberance of the streamline modern era through flowing, sculpted lines that draw the eye from the sleek bow to the huge entertaining areas aft. The energy of wind-in-the-hair boating combines with modern comforts to shape unique memories aboard a unique vessel.

The voluminous aft decks encourage socialising while taking in the surroundings, enhanced by removable awnings and adjustable louvres to create a fabulous environment for all conditions, whether intimate gatherings or large soirees.

There is plenty of opportunity for customisation of the interior, where owners may continue with the art deco theming or bring their own signature styling. The flexibility of arrangements includes a full-beam master suite and lounge, or a family-oriented configuration with more individual cabins.

The graceful lines continue underwater, with the lightweight aluminium hull enabling efficient, high-speed cruising. Combining the hydrodynamically optimised hull with the joystick flexibility and precision of IPS drives means that every facet of this high-performance machine is sheer pleasure.

Building on a background in both naval architecture and the technology industry, Nick Stark Design’s custom-built design systems allow for rapid and precise design exploration. Clients enjoy the benefits of NSD’s rapid design formulation, visualisation and iteration to ensure that the final craft is the owner’s vision writ large.
