NIXIE: Lürssen Delivers Record-Breaking 102m Masterpiece

By Sophia Spanton

In a year already defined by exceptional deliveries, Lürssen has raised the bar once more with the handover of the 102.4-metre NIXIE. Formerly known as Project JASSJ, the striking motor yacht slipped away on her maiden voyage on 26 June 2026, marking the German yard’s sixth delivery of the year and underscoring its commanding position at the pinnacle of superyacht construction. Sculpted by the British studio RWD with a philosophy of fluid, organic elegance, NIXIE will make her global debut this September at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026, where her presence is certain to captivate.

Her exterior is a study in sophisticated restraint. Gentle undulations of deep contours and broad convex forms animate the steel and aluminium superstructure, allowing light to play across surfaces in a way that makes the yacht appear almost to dissolve into its surroundings. Clad in a bespoke warm grey with a subtle pearlescent quality that responds beautifully to changing light, NIXIE achieves a powerful yet composed presence. Uniquely shaped panes of structural glazing, each gradient-tinted, blur the boundary between glass and hull, granting an unusually light and open character for a yacht of this scale. Engineering and naval architecture, completed in-house at Lürssen, ensure that every line serves both aesthetic harmony and technical excellence.

A signature element is the semi-suspended, six-metre-wide glass swimming pool positioned aft on the main deck. Conceived as architectural sculpture rather than mere amenity, it extends gracefully over the swim platform, forging a direct and dramatic dialogue with the sea. Adjustable water levels and a privacy screen ensure versatility for multigenerational enjoyment. Below lies one of the largest beach clubs yet seen on a Lürssen yacht: a serene 270-square-metre expanse of indoor-outdoor living featuring a gym, cryochamber, four expansive sea terraces, and a transom hatch that opens flush with the Indian teak decking. Delicate stonework, rich woods, and bespoke artisanal furnishings sourced globally by RWD complete an environment of quiet luxury.

Beneath her sinuous lines pulses a sophisticated diesel-electric propulsion system paired with an advanced energy storage solution. This configuration delivers efficient performance across varied cruising profiles while minimising noise and vibration, elevating onboard comfort to new heights. The yacht artfully balances expansive social areas with deeply private owner’s quarters, making her equally suited to grand-scale entertaining or extended, effortless exploration.

As NIXIE begins her journey under the central charter management of Edmiston, she embodies the very best of contemporary superyacht design: intentional, harmonious, and forward-thinking. In an era where owners seek both presence and peace, this latest Lürssen creation stands as a compelling vision of what is possible when vision, craftsmanship, and innovation converge at the highest level. Her forthcoming appearance in Monaco will undoubtedly set the tone for the season ahead.
