NIXIE: The Beach Club Bigger Than the Average Apartment
At 270 square metres, Nixie’s beach club is comparable in size to a spacious city apartment — only here, the entire space is dedicated to enjoying life by the water.
270 square metres at sea
The 102 metre Lürssen has devoted this remarkable amount of space to the stern, where the beach club opens directly onto the water and makes full use of the yacht's extraordinary proportions.
In London, where the average flat is around 50 to 60 square metres, that's enough room for roughly four homes. In New York, an average apartment of around 70 square metres could fit almost four times over. In Paris, where the average apartment is smaller again, the comparison becomes even more striking.
Fancy a match?
Next time you're at a tennis match, take a moment to consider the court itself. At an impressive 261 square metres, it's only marginally smaller than Nixie's beach club.
Rather than a net and a couple of ball boys, Nixie has four sea terraces, a gym, a cryochamber and an opening transom, all finished in Indian teak and opening onto the water. The surroundings may be worlds apart, but strawberries and cream remain a fitting accompaniment to both.
Six metres of glass
A beach club this generous was never going to settle for an ordinary pool.
Six metres wide and semi suspended over the swim platform, the glass swimming pool extends beyond the main deck, creating a seamless visual connection with the ocean below. Its adjustable water level allows guests of different ages to use it comfortably, while a privacy screen can be raised when required.
From the water, the effect is almost theatrical: the pool appears to continue beyond the yacht itself, with nothing but the sea and horizon beyond it.
Wellness on a different scale
The gym and cryochamber are only part of Nixie's approach to wellbeing. Her private spa adds a beauty salon, massage room, steam room and sauna, while the sundeck brings a more indulgent side to wellness with a jacuzzi, sunbeds and generous lounge spaces.
And that's just the beach club. The same space that could be a family home in London or almost an entire tennis court becomes a private retreat at sea. With this much on offer, “beach club” hardly seems to cover it.
