By Frances Flannagan

Following a series of major announcements across the board, Numarine has kicked off 2024 on a high. With the addition of valuable new team members combined with upcoming launches and exciting innovative-firsts for the shipyard, Numarine is set to embark on a highly successful year.

Istanbul-based shipyard Numarine is currently delivering a total of a dozen yachts a year; however, it has recently made the exciting announcement that it will be launching an impressive three new-build superyachts by the end of February 2024: one 37XP and two 26XPs.

2023 was a highly successful year for Numarine: it introduced the super-sporty 26XP as the fastest 85ft vessel in its class with a top speed of 31 knots, alongside revealing that it had 12 yachts under construction. This called for significant additions to be made to the Numarine team: a strengthening of management to enable the shipyard to address all challenges, achieve goals, and effortlessly meet the demands of Owners.

Following 18 years working for Numarine across various departments, Murat Sen has now been appointed the new General Manager of the yard. Sen commented: ‘This is a great opportunity to lead the company that I’ve been in since I started my professional life. Through my knowledge of the company culture and the team, I believe the path to a successful future will continue for Numarine.’

Bengü Özdogan has also been appointed as the new Sales and Marketing Director, bolstering Numarine’s commercial side. She is set to utilise her extensive knowledge and experience of marketing, sales strategy and partnership management to elevate the Turkish yard.

Numarine has further revealed that it has two brand new models ready to be unveiled: a diesel-hybrid 30XP and a steel-hulled 40MXP. First showcased in 2022 to mark the shipyard's 20th anniversary, the 30XP is the first yacht from the Turkish yard to feature diesel-electric propulsion. Prior to her anticipated launch this summer, five units of this innovative model have already been sold.

Can Yalman has penned both the interiors and exteriors for the 30XP, which features a raised pilothouse and interior decor inspired by a sustainable and simple Scandinavian style. Up to 10 guests can be accommodated across five en suite staterooms, made up of four guest cabins on the lower deck and a master cabin on the main deck forward. The master suite includes floor-to-ceiling windows and cutouts in the bulwarks for spectacular views and an abundance of natural light, alongside an optional fold-out balcony.

A strong connection to the sea is a key feature of her design, with three fold-down platforms increasing the beach club space to 43 sqm alongside a side-loading tender bay which can accommodate a tender of up to 6.25m. The onboard space combined with the ability to cruise to secluded bays and marinas elevates the connection to the surrounding environment, allowing for guests to make the most of their time at sea.

Ömer Malaz, Founder and Chairman of Numarine, commented: ‘After enjoying a truly bumper 2023 in terms of our sales, our whole team is looking forward to showcasing what we are capable of in 2024 and beyond, particularly through our unmatched expedition and explorer vessel such as the 30XP. Now with the valuable additional support of two such experienced individuals as Bengu and Murat, there will be nothing stopping us!’
