Numarine’s Steps Towards Total Tranquility Onboard
As a pioneer in explorer vessels, Numarine has taken it one step further with its new soundproofing technology that will make the 30XP and 45XP the yard’s quietest yachts to date. In collaboration with Silent Lane, the Turkish yard has elevated its designs to offer a serene onboard experience like never before.
Numarine has turned its focus on noise attenuation, resulting in its two latest explorer yachts being its most tranquil designs to date. Both at anchor and underway, the 30XP and 45XP models will offer a new experience of life aboard, in total peace and quiet.
Sjaak van Cappellen, Founder of Silent Lane, commented: ‘Today’s noise and vibration results are based on many years of research and the optimisation of in-house computer modelling, in which the data is abstracted from intensive noise and vibration measurements on board Numarine’s composite and steel yachts.’
The 30XP is now the quietest yacht in the sub-50m class, made possible by a diesel-electric propulsion system and an expertly designed acoustic generator enclosure. The four lavish guest cabins on this yacht are situated on the lower deck, where sound levels barely reach 40dBa even when the vessel is cruising at seven knots. In the master stateroom, it is even quieter at 38.1dBa, described by Numarine as ‘lower than the soft sound of rainfall’.
Ömer Malaz, Founder & Chairman of Numarine, commented: ‘Our boats must be able to take you wherever you want to go in whatever conditions, and do so in comfort and safety. That’s why we have worked so hard to move the dial on noise levels aboard. After decades of experience, I still believe that there is nothing more luxurious on a boat than silence, providing the opportunity to fully engage with the people and the seascape around you.’
The 45XP, Numarine’s new flagship, has pushed these boundaries even further. The first hull of the model includes a spectacle of technical enhancements that reduce noise and vibration even more.
Thanks to Silent Line’s latest design of sound insulation, the 45XP has saved nearly 3 tonnes of weight. This has been achieved through innovative flexible mountings for the engine and generators, and floating floors and ceilings that dampen noise transmission.
When launched, the 45XP will take the title as the quietest yacht in Numarine’s fleet, and the quietest on the market below 50 metres. Alongside its tranquil environment, this vessel also boasts an array of standout features. From a generous beach club offering panoramic views to a spacious Owner’s stateroom that benefits from an abundance of natural light, this model will continue to capture the attention of the industry.
Malaz concluded: ‘We have worked hard with Silent Line to ensure that the Numarine 45XP runs more quietly than any other we have built. They have been fantastic to work with on this project, which marries their acoustic know-how with our boat-building expertise.'
