Nuvolari Lenard’s 47m S1 Superyacht Nears Completion
The first yacht in Nuvolari Lenard’s new series, ranging from the 47m NL S1 to the Plus range 52 to 65 metres, nears completion, ahead of her launch this summer. She features the capabilities and amenities of a larger yacht in a smaller package, boasting one of the largest sundecks within her category.
The Sub-500 GT S1 superyacht is a stunning steel and aluminium design from Nuvolari Lenard, inspired by the request of an experienced Owner who wished to capture the essence of a larger vessel within a sub 50 metre and sub 500GT design. The result is a superyacht that offers the luxury, versatility and capabilities of a 60m vessel in a smaller package, making her perfectly suited to Mediterranean cruising.
‘The S1 opens up more destinations thanks to its 4,000-mile range while opening up more cruising grounds because of its more compact size,’ commented Carlo Nuvolari, Naval Architect and Co-Founder of Nuvolari Lenard. ‘We have managed to bring ideas from our much larger superyacht projects down to the S1, and as a result she offers large exterior decks, side deck walkways that you’d expect to see on a much larger yacht, and showstopper features for a sub-50 metre such as a bridge deck owner suite and a giant sundeck.’
The Owner’s deck on the S1 includes an aft-facing suite that benefits from the upper deck vistas, enhanced by large windows found in the expansive ensuite. Leading out from the main cabin is the upper aft deck, which offers a private terrace that can be sheltered under the extended shade of the sundeck overhead, meaning that guests can make the most of al fresco living all year round.
The rest of the accommodation is located on the lower deck, configured as four double ensuite cabins. Emphasising the versatility of the S1, two cabins can be transformed into an exceptional VIP suite due to a moveable partition.
The S1 is the perfect yacht for all ages, fitted with an elevator which is rare for yachts of this size. A range of social areas can be found onboard, including a private forward saloon on the main deck with an open balcony; a space that can also serve as a study, cinema, or simply for relaxing.
Guests can enjoy a vast array of outdoor activities on the beach club and the very large cockpit, which is equipped with a folding bulwark and retractable crane that can lift 2.6 tonnes. With more than half of the space dedicated to a sofa and bar area, it’s the perfect place to host a party or enjoy intimate family times alike.
One of the standout elements of the S1’s design is that she is able to accommodate these impressive elements whilst still appearing sleek and graceful.
‘Her lines do reflect a certain masculinity, with a powerful, high bow and an unmistakable aft characterised by a transformer platform and water sports area,’ commented Dan Lenard, Designer and Co-Founder of the Studio Nuvolari Lenard. ‘But she also has her graceful, feminine touches too, from her sleek and elegant profile to her serene interior design.’
The S1 is not just an aesthetic vessel with a well thought-out design; she also boasts spectacular efficiency and comfort, with her naval architecture overseen by Van Oossanen. She has been engineered for long-term cruising with plenty of storage space and an accessible layout, making the S1 the engineer’s dream.
‘It has been a privilege to realise the superb design of the S1 and all of Nuvolari Lenard’s details that make the S1 such a special project,’ commented Hüseyin Mengi, Chairman of the Board at Mengi Yay shipyard. ‘As a family owned yard with 60 years of experience building yachts, we are excited to be nearing completion of a superyacht that we are confident will stun when she appears at the Monaco show, as well as everywhere else she goes.’
The first S1 will soon be followed by a twin, set to be completed in summer and making her debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2024.
