Palm Yachts Launches Zero-Emissions Luxury Catamaran Range

By Jenna Mehdi

With increased stability and higher internal volume, the luxury catamaran is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to the monohull superyacht. Now, Palm Yachts has introduced a range of luxury power and sailing catamarans which truly have it all, operating on a 100% zero-emissions platform with a choice of hydrogen-, electric- and hybrid-powered options.

Designed by Dixon Yacht Design, Palm Yachts’ new zero-emissions luxury range comprises yachts from 55 to 80 feet built from recycled aluminium. Operating on a “custom design structure with a production pricing structure”, all models in the range (which has power and sailing options) are fully customisable not only in layout and decor but also in external features such as bow, flybridge and porthole shape.

The most attractive selling point of Palm Yachts’ new range is undoubtedly its sustainable and versatile propulsion platform. With full-hydrogen, full-electric and hybrid options, each yacht can be individually tailored to the owners’ requirements, offering substantial range and zero-emissions cruising in all but the hybrid system. The hydrogen fuel cell has been certified by Lloyd’s, and offers impressive range with fast-charging capabilities.

Palm Yachts announced the range in partnership with European sales partners MYSEA of Monaco. CEO of MYSEA Laurent Roussillon comments, “There are many sail and power catamarans in the marketplace, with only some offering 'eco friendly' yachts with hybrid power. It is exciting to be able to offer our clients the entire range all of which can be delivered with a choice of hydrogen, all electric, or hybrid propulsion. I believe the Palm Yachts range will really change the market.”

Offering silent, stable cruising without compromise on luxury, Palm Yachts has already enjoyed great commercial success amongst the ‘next-generation’ of superyacht owners after soft launch. Owners will be able to bring their own interior designer into the project or work alongside OS Designs & Partners, studio of choice for the interior concept.

The flagship of the new range is the 80 power, the first unit of which is currently under negotiation along with her smaller sister, the 70 power. In the sailing range the first 55 is sold; build slots are still available in both lines for delivery at the end of 2022 and in 2023.
