Palumbo SY Refit Announces Expansion

By Jenna Mehdi

Palumbo SY Refit has this week announced it will be opening new quarters in Central America and the Caribbean as well as a new office in the French Riviera town of Antibes.

Superyacht refit is an ever-expanding sector, and Palumbo SY Refit is at the very forefront of this. The refit division of Palumbo Group has enjoyed a remarkably successful year in spite of the pandemic, with esteemed refits under its belt including that of 85m Lurssen superyacht Solandge. In line with its continued success, Palumbo SY Refit has created its first service point to cover the Central America and Caribbean region. The strategic move will provide much-needed service to yachts and superyachts cruising the coveted charter grounds of the Bahamas and Caribbean as well as the increasingly popular Americas.

The new quarters will be headed up by Lucas Delahaye, who brings with him several years’ experience in the Palumbo SY Refit team and a deep knowledge of the refit and repair industry. Lucas will be based in Guadalupe, and assume the title of Head of After Sales and Refit/Repair for Central America and the Caribbean.

'I am excited about this new challenge and we are already in action assisting all our customers in this area. In the Caribbean the season has just begun and the Central American market is very attractive especially for a Network like ours which can count on a team specialized in the refit and repair of super and mega yachts,’ Lucas Delahaye comments in a statement.

The news comes as Palumbo SY Refit also announced it will be opening a new office in Antibes in early January 2021. Giuseppe Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Group, comments:

‘Our expansion program is ambitious and we are confident that we have all the necessary requirements to provide great service and professional support in the field of ship repair and maintenance. The time is ripe also to consolidate the important French market, served by our Marseille facility of over 35,000 square metres and able to service boats from 40 to over 100 metres. The aim of opening the Antibes office, near the Port Vauban marina, is to ensure a proximity service point for our customers and for anyone willing to know more about the Palumbo SY Refit world.’

The expanded Palumbo SY Refit presence comes in addition to its already established network of five shipyards located in Malta, Marseille, Savona, Naples and Ancona as well as a representative office in Monaco. The new makes Palumbo SY Refit the largest superyacht maintenance and repair network in the world, providing a breadth of varied and time-sensitive services to its clients.
