America's yachting capital came to life once again this week as South Florida hosts its 41st installment of the Palm Beach International Boat Show.

Superyachts.com is honoured once again to have the opportunity to speak with a wide variety of key players in the industry, from iconic designers to ship-building giants.

Our brand new Interview Studio acted as the ultimate podium for leading announcements and innovative discussion; situated in the heart of the stunning ALBA Palm Beach Showroom; a mere stone's throw away from all of the action at the marina.

With the event now well underway, we’ll be giving you an insight into some of the highlights of Day 1 and the remainder of the show, with a breakdown of some of the largest, most enticing yachts in attendance this year.

ARROW

Feadship’s $148 million, 74m Arrow continues to be one of the main stars of the show. This striking  motoryacht is also the first Feadship to be drawn by Jonny Horsfield and his team at the H2 Yacht Design studio in London.

ARROW boasts a sleek exterior with amazing glass bulwarks and offers breathtaking sea views from all angles. She is richly decorated in an architectural way which is entirely in tune with the exterior. The sun deck is the ultimate relaxation zone, complete with a hot tub and plenty of sunbathing areas. A fully equipped gym with large windows all around, a bar, and a lounge area on the aft provide the perfect space to unwind.

The bridge deck features a sky lounge with a bar and breathtaking sea views thanks to the large windows. An al fresco dining area for up to 12 guests on the aft completes this stunning layout.

CORAL OCEAN

Delivered in 1994, Lurssen's 72m Coral Ocean is widely known as one of the defining masterpieces of the late legendary designer Jon Bannenberg. Much admired and often imitated, the 72.5-meter luxury yacht sports exterior lines and an interior styling that are still as fresh and contemporary as the day that she was launched.

Her distinctive character is shaped by a Polynesian beach-house style with natural wood, rough marble and intricate shells against a backdrop that combines luxurious creams, beiges and browns. African and Asian accents and extraordinary ethnic artwork decorate the walls while cleverly located up-lighting enhances the “beach-house” atmosphere.

Coral Ocean offers accommodation for up to 12 guests. She is also capable of carrying up to 22 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

ALFA

Never used and ready for her new Owner, Benetti's 70m ALFA is now for sale. Modern, elegant and versatile, ALFA features clean lines and stunning design by Benetti and Laura Pomponi.

From the highest point of the yacht, the sky deck, enjoy unlimited sunbathing with her comfortable sun pads and hot tub. To complete the experience on this exceptional yacht ALFA also boasts a full-beam beach club on the lower deck with fold-down balconies to the sea.

ALFA has a 7-stateroom layout. In addition to the Owner’s deck, there are six more staterooms, located on the lower deck, all ensuite: 4 VIP doubles and 2 twin staterooms.

CALEX

Spread across five enclosed decks and one sun deck, Benetti's 67-m Calex perfectly balanced layout is a notable feature of her design. The latest technology has also been implemented to ensure minimal noise disruption and silent cruising at 12 knots.

Calex's foredeck can also be utilised as a touch-and-go helipad, with an al fresco dining and relaxation area in the stern. Her ample entertaining spaces include a large main salon with table seating for 12, as well as accommodation for two VIP cabins and four guest cabins.

Two toy garages host an enviable array of water toys and the main tender. All five decks are accessible by CALEX’s lift, with exception of the sun deck which is home to gym equipment and its own Jacuzzi pool.

Stay tuned for further updates as we deliver a wide variety of interviews and more exclusive insights throughout the week to provide an illustrated snapshot of this year's show.
