Pushing the Boundaries of Space: Alia Yachts’ SAN Successfully Launched

By Frances Flannagan

Alia Yachts is proud to announce the launch of 45 metre bespoke superyacht SAN, a vessel that pushes the boundaries of space optimization. With custom engineering and versatile deck spaces, SAN combines technical complexity with undeniable beauty, offering a truly exceptional yachting experience.

Crafted by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design and with naval architecture by Lateral Naval Architects, SAN embodies a sophisticated blend of bespoke engineering and minimalist elegance. Her sleek lines, unobstructed sea views, and luxurious interiors truly set a new standard in superyacht design.

The main aft deck offers shaded seating and terraced steps that lead to expansive sunpads and folding bulwarks, which open up the beach club area. Adaptable deck furniture transforms effortlessly from dining and cocktails to sunbathing and relaxation, just one of the many innovative elements of her design.

Other flexible features include a hi-lo teak table that doubles as a coffee table and can be elevated for formal meals, and an adjustable sunpad and table on the foredeck that create an extended lounging area, with a concealed tender garage and crane below.

SAN’s coupé-style silhouette was designed to sit low in the water, ensuring a superyacht feel despite her compact size. The raised pilothouse, resembling an aircraft cockpit, maximises space while maintaining sleek, functional lines.

Paul Costerus, Senior Yacht Designer and Project Manager at Sinot, commented: ‘The main challenge on a yacht of this size and volume is that every square centimetre had to be optimised… While developing the layout we had to push the boundaries everywhere while taking care that you could still move around the boat comfortably, so the ergonomics were important too.’

Stepping into the saloon, guests are greeted by floor-to-ceiling glass, offering uninterrupted ocean views even from the comfortable seating areas. The saloon features recessed seating in a Japanese-style nook below, maintaining an impressive ceiling height of 2.3 metres.

The interior design mirrors the exterior’s clean lines, blending teak, stained oak, eucalyptus, and tan leather. Fitted furniture, highlighted by refined details like 'butterfly' joints and saddle-stitched leather, creates an atmosphere that is minimalist yet inviting. The same sophisticated materials continue throughout the lower deck’s guest suites, accessed via a spiral staircase from the main saloon.

The forward master stateroom is bathed in natural light from sweeping windows of curved glass, with practical stainless-steel accents. The guest suites offer both double and twin bed options, and bathrooms feature elegant, Owner-selected French limestone. A crew corridor leads to quarters for seven, a professional galley, and direct access to the engine room, where four 700-hp Volvo Penta engines power SAN to a top speed of 23 knots.

Gökhan Çelik, President of Alia Yachts, reflected on the launch: ‘SAN is a perfect example of Alia’s commitment to combining advanced engineering with timeless design, setting a new benchmark in the world of bespoke superyachts.'
