Ferretti Group has officially opened its Riva yard in La Spezia following a complete refurbishment. The renovated production site will allow for another 30 boats of up to 40 metres to be launched each year, totalling a surface area of 64,000 sqm with four industrial sheds.

The opening of the Riva shipyard in La Spezia marked a grand occasion for Ferretti Group, in a ceremony attended by Chairman Tan Xuguang, CEO Alberto Galassi, local authorities and a delegation from the Group’s shareholder Weichai.

The La Spezia yard is a strategic centre for Ferretti Group within the region of the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas. The production site plays an extremely crucial industrial role, employing over 750 workers on a daily basis including 200 direct employees.

Both the production and management sections were refurbished, where Riva yachts are developed, alongside a luxurious lounge area for Owners, captains and crew.

The shipyard covers 64,000 sqm, featuring 33 berths situated over 400 linear metres of docks. La Spezia is made up of four industrial sheds, 21 production stations and a further two sheds spanning 1,000 sqm that are dedicated entirely to painting.

Riva models from 76 to 136 feet are the focus of the production centre, which will be able to launch another 30 boats a year up to 40 metres following the refurbishments.

The production site is located in an area of Regional Interest, meaning that it aims to both protect and respect the natural environment. La Spezia forms part of the Miglio Blu (Blue Mile) project, an initiative which serves to promote the local area and its excellence within the yachting industry whilst simultaneously respecting the surrounding environment.

Ferretti Group has just seen an excellent quarterly report, meaning that the opening ceremony was the perfect opportunity for attendees to witness firsthand the shipyard’s new and impressive look, whilst taking note of the Group’s significant achievements. The future looks bright for Ferretti Group, as Chairman Tan Xuguang once again confirmed his appreciation for the management in light of the successful opening of La Spezia.
