Riva 82’ Diva: The New Flybridge for an Unmatched Yachting Experience

By Frances Flannagan

Riva 82’ Diva, a new 25m yacht, has been launched. She boasts the unique creativity of Riva: with endless outdoor space, this design represents something new and exciting within the market, featuring one of the largest flybridges on this size of yacht.

Riva, a brand of the Ferretti Group, is famed as a nautical icon within the yachting industry, creating unique and unmistakable vessels for over 180 years. This creative flair is once again showcased in the launch of Riva 82’ Diva: the flybridge opening a new chapter in the history of the category.

She showcases a unique and agile beauty, with features of her predecessors employed in her design; the low, sporty profile of the superstructure working with new innovative solutions, including higher and safer lateral gunwales with painted composite profiles.

The Riva 82’ Diva joins Riva’s catalogue of successful flybridges, however brings two new aspects to the market: a new boat size and a revolutionary use of space. Founders of Officina Italiana Design Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta penned the design, in collaboration with the Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.

Riva’s slogan is the ‘Devil is in the Details’, and this concept is translated into the creation of the Riva 82’ Diva. She offers a new concept of space, both the interior and exterior designed to optimise functionality. The key focus of the yacht is the outdoor areas, which immerse guests in the sea-environment, notably with the 40 sqm flybridge.

The spacious dimensions allow for each living area on the flybridge to have its own dedicated area, another exceptional optimisation of space. The lounge is in the centre, protected by a carbon fibre hard top with glass panels, the sunbathing area forward and a second lounge area aft.

A spacious stern beach club featuring two large bulwarks that create lateral terraces is the show-stopping attraction of the Riva 82’ Diva, located on the main deck. From relaxation to adventure, this yacht has taken into account all interests. She has a garage that can accommodate a jet tender of up to 3.45m and a seabob, as well as a raised cockpit with sea-view sofas, perfect for those who wish to relax in a living area of nearly 35 sqm.

The interior has been designed with both design and comfort in mind. Key features include a panoramic dining area, a gallery which is able to be closed off from or to open out into the dining area, creating a seamless space, and a stairwell with glass walls to dissolve the visual barrier between interior and exterior. Here, we can see the masterful use of space coming to light in the interior design.

She  can accommodate up to eight guests, with four cabins on the lower deck; three guest cabins with ensuites and the full-beam owner’s cabin aft. The owner and guests are guaranteed total privacy with crew quarters accessed by a dedicated walkway on the side of the superstructure.

The owner can decide which pair of engines to install depending on their desired top speed and cruising speed, highlighting the detail that has been implemented in Riva 82’ Diva’s architectural design, with the interests of the owner at the heart of the creation.

The first unit will make its official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023.
