Rosetti to Expand Facilities for Superyachts

With shipbuilding roots dating back to 1925, Rosetti Marino brought its experience to the superyacht sector in 2017 and has since developed a range of exciting concepts for superyachts and explorer vessels. Working with leading studios such as Hydro Tec and Studio Spadolini, Rosetti has made clear its intention to use its considerable experience production capacity to compete develop high-performance superyachts. In an interview with Superyachts.com, Rosetti President Fulvio Dodich highlighted the explorer market as one particular area where Rosetti will excel.

The new facilities at the shipyard will complement this focus on expedition and supply-style vessels. The project includes the construction of a new shed (120m x 32m x 30m) equipped for large yachts and an adjacent building dedicated to the various stages of outfitting to offer a one-stop-shop for superyacht construction.

The building will have an area for carpentry on the 1st floor, a showroom where mock-ups will be displayed on the 2nd floor, and offices reserved for the owner’s team on the 3rd floor which overlooks the production yard. These new facilities will enhance the existing production facilities where Rosetti is currently building the 38m Explorer designed by Hydro Tec, which is due for delivery in 2021.

“Rosetti Superyachts is about to make a further important investment that will reinforce the brand as a reference point in the construction of explorer-style yachts in steel and aluminium starting from 35 metres,” said Ermanno Bellettini, CEO of RSY. “In order to expand we need another construction shed that allows us to build larger yachts than the one we already have. The investment is testament to the strategic vision of the entire Rosetti Marino Group and our commitment to increase the size range of our product offering.” 

The San Vitale shipyard on Italy’s beautiful Adriatic coast spans 70,000 square metres and is equipped with a 180m x 27m dry dock. The expansion of the superyacht facility demonstrates Rosetti’s intention to build bigger and compete with the best in the superyacht industry. Expect to see exciting things from the Italian builder.
