Royal Huisman has marked a major milestone in the build of Project 412 following the successful turning of the yacht’s hull at its Vollenhove shipyard in the Netherlands.
The operation brings the sailing yacht into her upright position for the first time and offers a clearer sense of her scale, volume and proportions as the project moves into the next phase of construction. With the hull turning now complete, work will continue on the integration of onboard systems and the outfitting process, while the bow section, which is nearing completion in Hall 3, is due to be joined to the main hull in the coming days.
Project 412 is the second yacht in Royal Huisman’s Trident series, and the milestone offers an important visual and structural step forward in a build that continues to reflect the Dutch yard’s approach to large-scale sailing yacht construction. For a project of this size, hull turning is more than a technical operation; it is one of the first moments when the yacht’s true presence begins to emerge.
Peter Naeyé, CEO of Royal Huisman, described the milestone as a proud moment for the yard, 'Project 412 reflects the deep trust we value so highly from our clients, especially when an owner returns to build upon the proven architecture of Royal Huisman’s flybridge schooner', also noting that the turning of the hull reflects thousands of hours of craftsmanship and marks the transition towards the integration and finishing stages that define the Royal Huisman experience.
Further details on Project 412 will follow as the build progresses.
"With Project 412, we are again pushing the boundaries of true sailing at superyacht scale..."
