Royal Huisman's PHI Delivery Celebrated With Light Display

By Danny Wiser

The delivery of the world’s longest motoryacht in the sub-500 GT category, PHI, has been announced.

Royal Huisman’s latest flagship to be delivered has a rather unique design, topped off by her exterior lighting powered by lasers that will shine as she leaves the shipyard en route to her new owners.

Jointly developed for PHI by Royal Huisman and Fibr8.com, the lighting system is not only an aesthetic delight but also is more practical than LED lights that are harder to maintain and more prone to failure.

The glistening motor yacht will be accompanied by her sister ship PHI Phantom, who will serve as a shadow vessel for her; her owner rightly claimed: “Two boats are better than one.”

PHI’s upper deck will serve as the owner’s penthouse whilst her aft deck will be filled to the brim with entertainment spaces, making her stand out from the crowd.

The myriad of features included on the yacht, enabled by the accompaniment of PHI Phantom, would typically require the space of a 90m superyacht, noted Guy Booth, the owner’s representative.

The custom-made liner was not an easy project to deliver, but Royal Huisman CEO, Jan Timmerman felt admiration for his company’s achievement.

The delivery is a moment of great pride for our team. It is also bittersweet, having to say farewell to PHI, as her creation has been part of our daily lives for several years. At the same time we know that PHI and her shadow vessel will conquer the oceans.”

He continued: “We wish PHI’s owner and everyone onboard fair winds, following seas and a great experience – as enjoyed onboard every Royal Huisman superyacht.”
