Sanlorenzo Demonstating Vision, Innovation, and Responsibility in the Heart of Venice
As the historic Arsenale di Venezia prepares to welcome the world’s leading yachting brands for the Venice Boat Show 2025, all eyes are on Sanlorenzo and their revolutionary 50Steel ALMAX superyacht that is not only the flagship of the event but a symbol of the industry’s boldest leap towards sustainable luxury.
This year’s show, running from 29 May to 2 June, places sustainability at the heart of the conversation, and nowhere is this more evident than in the debut of the Sanlorenzo 50Steel ALMAX. Unveiled as a world premiere, this 50-metre masterpiece is the world’s first superyacht to feature a Reformer-Fuel Cell system, converting green methanol into hydrogen and then into clean electricity. This pioneering technology allows the yacht to cover up to 90% of its onboard energy needs at anchor with near-zero emissions-setting a new benchmark for environmentally conscious yachting.
But innovation at Sanlorenzo extends beyond propulsion. The 50Steel ALMAX introduces the Hidden Engine Room (HER) concept, a patented solution that liberates valuable space for an expansive Ocean Lounge, wellness area, and gym-all seamlessly connected to guest cabins and cascading across levels with remarkable 3.35-metre-high ceilings. The result is an interior that feels open, airy, and utterly unique.
Designed by Zuccon International Project and with interiors by Piero Lissoni, the yacht is a true symphony of Italian style and engineering. The sophisticated X-POWER hybrid propulsion system, developed with Siemens Energy and Xenta, offers three operational modes-diesel-mechanical, diesel-electric, and full-electric-delivering optimal efficiency and a whisper-quiet cruising experience.
Sanlorenzo’s commitment to responsible innovation is further underscored by its “Road to 2030” strategy, which aims to lead the industry towards zero-emission yachting. The 50Steel ALMAX is not just a showpiece but a tangible step forward, demonstrating how advanced technology and uncompromising luxury can coexist.
As Main Partner of the inaugural Venice Climate Week (June 3–8, 2025), Sanlorenzo extends its commitment beyond innovation and technology by actively engaging in global conversations on climate change and sustainability.
Visitors to the Venice Boat Show will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the 50Steel ALMAX up close. The yacht’s presence at the show is more than a highlight: it’s a statement that the future of superyachting is being shaped right now, in the heart of Venice, by Sanlorenzo.
The 50Steel ALMAX is a must-see-a vessel where vision, innovation, and responsibility come together in spectacular form.
