Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric Sold in North Asia
Simpson Marine has announced the sale of another Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric superyacht to a client in North Asia. The model has enjoyed profound success across the world since entering onto the market, the latest being an in-house sale with Tom Allen representing the buyer.
The Asymmetric superyacht concept tests the limits of yacht design, heralding a significant shift in visual dynamics. She boasts full width body to port and exterior side-deck maintained solely on the starboard side, the uniqueness of which has captured worldwide attention.
This alternative take on a superyacht layout has been developed by American designer Chris Bangle, who is perhaps more synonymous with the designs of BMW and Rolls-Royce. The streamlined and balanced exterior profile has been the world of Studio Zuccon International. As you get closer to the yacht, the unique asymmetricity of the design becomes more apparent, with each side different. The starboard side deck has a wide body design to port, which affords an additional 15m2 of interior space to the yacht, adding to both the luxury and functionality of the interior areas.
To afford great quantities of natural light and unforgettable panoramic views, floor to ceiling windows have been installed throughout the dining area which work smoothly with the electronically lowering bulwarks. There are extensive guest spaces both on the interior and exterior, with the starboard side boasting the main saloon and a deploying balcony for outdoor enjoyment. These innovative features of the design are found throughout the yacht, and much attention has been paid to creating a smooth flow of movement across the vessel.
The Italian shipyard has once again imprinted a bespoke ‘Made in Italy’ feel to the interior design of the yacht, collaborating with renowned Italian brands and designers. Nick Stratton, Sanlorenzo Asia Sales Manager, commented on latest SL102 sale: “We are delighted to confirm this sale and look forward to this stunning yacht with its custom interior design arriving in Hong Kong early next year. The Asymmetric design has proved to be very popular by enhancing internal volume whilst allowing for huge exterior spaces and better connectivity between all areas. The smaller sister, the SL96A, was launched earlier this year and we expect the same success with this model also.”
Sanlorenzo superyachts are proving to be a great success in the Asian market, and following on from this sale there are several new Sanlorenzo yachts to arrive in Hong Kong later this year.
