SIMENA is Born: ARES Yachts Launches their First Superyacht
Marking a major milestone in their superyacht journey, ARES Yachts has proudly launched SIMENA, a 62-metre, ketch-rigged sailing yacht that blends timeless elegance with cutting-edge technology. As the first superyacht from the Antalya-based shipyard, SIMENA sets the tone for a bold and sophisticated future fleet.
Crafted from a steel–carbon composite, SIMENA is a striking debut that positions ARES Yachts at the forefront of Turkish luxury yacht building. Designed to RINA Charter Class C standards, she is a true ocean vessel with global cruising capabilities.
The yacht’s exteriors are sculpted by Taka Yacht Design, offering classic sailing lines and a powerful ketch rig. Inside, UK-based studio Design Unlimited has delivered a refined, contemporary interior that harmonises with the yacht’s heritage character. Rich walnut cabinetry, textured leathers, and warm metallic accents create an atmosphere of understated sophistication, while modern conveniences are subtly integrated throughout.
Powered by an advanced hybrid propulsion system, SIMENA can operate silently at speeds of up to 6 knots under electric power alone, or reach a top speed of 14.5 knots when combining her 882 kW diesel engine with 220 kW electric motors. At an 11-knot cruising speed, she boasts a range of 4,000 nautical miles, which is ideal for transatlantic crossings.
SIMENA offers accommodation for up to 12 guests and 9 crew, with the owner’s suite enjoying a prime forward position on the main deck. A testament to ARES’s legacy of craftsmanship, the yacht features traditional laid teak decks and varnished sipo mahogany detailing, evoking the golden age of sailing.
Following finishing works and sea trials, SIMENA will make her official world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, where she will stand among the world’s most prestigious sailing superyachts.
