Sold: Bering Yachts' Largest Custom Yacht to Date
Bering Yachts has announced the sale of a fully custom 45 metre superyacht, Bering 145, ahead of her delivery in January 2022. The news comes as affirmation of an industry recovering from the economic fallout of COVID-19, as well as the remarkable burgeoning success of a relatively young shipyard in harsh economic conditions.
Very few businesses can claim the uniquely international makeup of Bering Yachts. Launched in 2007 by two Russian friends and entrepreneurs Alexei Mikhailov and Alexander Obidin, the yard is headquartered in the US, with a shipyard in Turkey and an Australian designer counted amongst its tightknit team. But it is perhaps the rugged design inspiration, that of North Sea commercial ships, which sets Bering Yachts apart most distinctly from its competitors.
The Bering 145 is an embodiment of this unique take on design, which at once combines owner’s desires with the shipbuilding and aesthetic expertise to make a dream a reality. The 45-metre yacht is Bering Yachts’ largest build to date, with a full displacement steel hull of 514 metric tons. She is a rugged yet sleek explorer vessel, capable of extreme cruising and impressive range of over 12,000 miles at cruising speed (9 knots). The Bering 145’s long-range capabilities are bolstered by a fuel capacity of 95,600 litres, and she can reach top speeds of up to 15 knots.

The 45m superyacht will feature a hybrid propulsion system, with rechargeable electric motors and the ability to dock in electric mode. She is complemented by a functional six-cabin layout, whose master suite on main deck forward boasts remarkable glass windows of over 9.5 square metres and incredible outward views. The five guest cabins are located on lower deck, and the superyacht also offers accommodation for 12 crew.
Despite being described by the yard as a ‘transoceanic model’ equipped with the latest technology, the Bering 145 is not all about function. With plenty of socialising spaces including her large saloon on main deck, spacious beach club aft and bar on flybridge, the Bering 145 was designed with quality time with family and friends in mind.
As shown by her interior renderings, the Bering 145 is complemented by a soothing and tranquil beachy theme throughout, with warm tones and intricate details serving to generously contrast with her formidable exterior. Meanwhile, a spacious garage fitted on lower deck and tenders housed on upper deck ensures there will be plenty of chance for high-octane adventure on the water.
