Somnio: Winch & TDoS Unveil 222m Residential Superyacht

M/Y Somnio, which has been developed in collaboration with Tillberg Design, will function as a private residence yacht – a growing trend in the industry following 282m Njord. Somnio stretches an incredible 222m in length and boats a jaw-dropping gross tonnage of 33,500 GT – breaking records and cementing her place as an unprecedented feat of design and engineering, reshaping luxury travel.  

The esteemed design duo of Winch Design and Tillberg Design has developed what has been labelled as the first ever ‘Yacht Liner’, featuring 39 exclusively high-end apartments on board, where owners will be offered the perfect combination of superyacht lifestyle and 7 star hotel service.

Somnio boasts onboard features including a spectacular 10,000-bottle capacity wine cellar and tasting room, a choice of restaurants and bars, and an extensive beach club with water-sports facilities. A lounge in the yacht’s bow will also offer owners and guests mesmerising views when sailing in scenic areas or when entering port.

Environmental sustainability and ocean research are also key focuses of Somnio, which is being built with the latest clean engine technology and advanced onboard equipment to help scientists and marine experts conduct their investigations.

Due for launch in mid-2024, Somnio’s construction is now underway in Norway at VARD shipyard, part of Italy’s iconic Fincantieri Group.
