Sophisticated and Sustainable: Fourth Amels 60 Launched

By Frances Flannagan

The new Amels 60, her real name yet to be revealed, has been launched in Vlissingen. Due to be delivered in Autumn 2023, she boasts all of the popular elements of the Amels 60 design along with her own individual custom features.

The Amels 60 series was introduced in 2019 and has been designed to create a more sophisticated and sustainable yachting experience. There are currently six units, highlighting the series’ popularity. The semi-custom design has resulted in the six sisterships each having their own spirit and individuality, whilst sharing the similar and spectacular features of the Amels 60 design.

Jan van Hogerqou, Damen Yachting’s Commercial Executive for the USA, commented on the popularity of the Amels 60 design: ‘We’ve had a very strong reception to this new Amels design – largely because an Owner can step into a new build, make some customisations and yet still benefit from a two-year delivery time.’

The fourth Amels 60 features an exterior design by Espen Øino, architecture by Damen Yachting and a custom interior by Studio Indigo and Pure Living who have harmoniously collaborated on this beautiful project.

The owner of the fourth Amels 60 has taken control of her individuality, requesting the windows to be transformed into long lines of glazing in the Main Saloon, covering the floor-to-ceiling height of 1.9m.

The Amels 60 can accommodate up to 12 guests, with six staterooms including a full-beam Owner’s Suite located on the Main Deck Forward and four guest suites on the Lower Deck. The Owner’s Suite is the ultimate private retreat, with a folding balcony terrace and an adjoining cabin that can be used for anything from a children’s suite to a gym.

Other notable features of this design includes Beach Club sauna, a Jacuzzi, and a touch-and-go helipad, highlighting the ultimate luxury elements that the Amels 60 offers.

She has superior seakeeping abilities, a transatlantic range of 4,500 miles and the ability to store a tender of up to nine metres on the foredeck. Alongside these impressive architectural elements, she has also been built with environmental considerations; she features IMO Tier III compliant hybrid power and propulsion technology. Both the Owner and the environment benefit from this design with very low noise and vibrations alongside the reduction of harmful emissions.

Superyachts.com would like to congratulate Damen Yachting on this launch and wish the fourth Amels 60 the best of luck on her future endeavours.
