Superyacht Spotlight: The Sensational KING BENJI

By Nora Hart

After a fully booked debut season, KING BENJI returned to the charter circuit in both style and confidence. Delivered by Dunya Yachts in 2024, the 47-metre explorer is already proving to be a standout in the charter market, combining long-range capability with a creative, guest-focused design.

Her acid-blue hull and bold styling catches attention, but it’s what’s inside that sets KING BENJI apart. Designed by Design Unlimited, the interiors avoid a simple palette of white and grey in favour of richer, more textured finishes: bamboo ceilings, warm woods, and colourful, ocean-inspired wallpapers. Each of the five guest cabins has its own look and feel, creating a sense of character that resonates with a wide array of guests.

The layout has clearly been designed for guests who want to spend extended time on board. The owner’s deck includes a private salon and a jungle-themed master suite with wide views forward. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the main saloon slide open to let in the sea air, and across the decks there are plenty of options for quality time on board, whether around the aft dining table or the open-air teppanyaki grill on the bridge deck.

KING BENJI also brings a strong sense of fun. Her toy collection is one of the most extensive in her class, with a 10-tonne crane supporting a 12-metre Nor-Tech tender, e-foils, SeaBobs, jet-skis, inflatables and more. A dual-temperature Jacuzzi on the foredeck adds a lovely touch for wellness-focused guests. Up top, a crow’s nest pod offers 360 views and has quickly become a guest favourite.

With a range of 4,000 nautical miles and a cruising speed of 12 knots, KING BENJI is well-suited to off-the-beaten-path itineraries. But even in more familiar waters, she brings a playful, welcoming atmosphere that doesn’t sacrifice capability or comfort.

For charter with Cecil Wright and led by Captain Grant with his dedicated crew of nine, KING BENJI has already built a reputation for creating bespoke experiences at sea. From water games and dive instruction to quality service, her team brings energy and flexibility to each charter. With her distinctive style, thoughtful layout, and spirit of adventure, KING BENJI brings something refreshing to the superyacht market.
