Tankoa Delivers 50m S501 Superyacht GREY with TWW Yachts

As the latest unit in the Tankoa S501 series, the 49.99-metre motor yacht GREY has been delivered by Tankoa shipyard in Genoa. The owner signed the new-build contract in July 2021 and appointed TWW Yachts as project managers. 

GREY is substantially different from her sisterships of the Tankoa S501 series, and her three-deck layout, devised by exterior designer Francesco Paszkovski, was heavily customised to meet her owners’ needs. 

Alongside the standard features that come with the timeless design of the Tankoa S501 series, the owner added a spectacular high-definition home cinema screen, located in front of the swimming pool lounge on the foredeck. GREY is also fitted with a top-of-the-range sound system throughout, designed by the award-winning French/British brand Focal & Naim. 

The owner gave attention to the design of the exterior decks, with alfresco living a key element of GREY's design. These features include four open lounging and entertainment spaces, a large Jacuzzi on the fly deck, alongside lounging areas and a pool on the foredeck.

From specification to delivery, TWW Yachts supported the owner throughout the entire build process. Interior designer Giorgio Casseta worked closely with the owner to create a luxurious and sophisticated interior. An array of natural materials, such as rich woods and veined marbles, were used to create a warm and inviting look and feel. To heighten the indoor-outdoor connection, the interior benefits from enlarged windows on the main deck, glass bulwarks and fold-out balconies. 

'This interior is one of the finest I have ever seen on any yacht of this size,' adds David Westwood, Principal Partner of TWW Yachts. GREY has six suites, including two customised suites on the main deck. She is able to accommodate up to 12 overnight guests as well as up to nine crew. 

'Our usual flexibility in satisfying customer requests is evident in the customisations made to GREY – such as the installation of a swimming pool in the bow, and the fantastic and never seen before cinema / sound system fitted just in front of the pool. The jet black and whisper grey paint gives a sleek look to GREY,' says Giuseppe Mazza, Tankoa sales and marketing manager.
